CDGK to plant 25,000 Margosa trees in Karachi

KARACHI - On the directives of President Asif Ali Zardari, the CDGK Forest Department will plant Margosa tree (Neem) at various important places including highways and outskirts of the metropolis in the forthcoming spring season, The Nation was told here on Tuesday.
Sources in the forest department said that President Asif Ali Zardari has directed the Sindh government to launch a tree plantation campaign during the upcoming spring season with a view to curb environmental pollution in the city and give preference to the Neem tree in this regard.
The President had directed the concerned authorities, during his last visit to the metropolis, to plant Neem tree at the premises of Sindh Secretariat, St Patrick School and College, Pakistan Secretariat, Sindh Assembly Building, along highways, link roads and surroundings of the city.
