Karachi Target Killings

Violence in Karachi is not a new story specially for the citizens of Karachi. But the way these events of target killings have occurred in the city are really a big threat for the social, political religious parties as well as the Karachites.
As always all the responsibilities are directed towards the government and the stack holder MQM. But one thing which should be notices that at the end of the day who gets the fruit. Its the forces who are either rejected by the citizens in elections or the forces who have regrets of not participating in 2008 General elections which were considered as a well conducted free and fair elections (as per the reports of international independent Media).
Last year target killings according to the Political affiliations were.
Muttahida Qaumi Movement 69
Pakistan Peoples Party 25

Local Bodies Elections Karachi

Local bodies elections are soon to be held, but some delay as the political forces PPP and MQM are still yet to agree on some issues. As the president Zardari have given the authority of upcoming elections to respective provinces, it is now the duty of provincial governments to conduct a free, fair and people friend elections.
In Karachi more than 80% chances are of MQM to clean sweep the elections once again as they have not only done it before, but they also are the only favorites of the people of Karachi.
ANP though trying to grab some of the pakhtoon populated areas of Karachi in upcoming elections but they also had to face a big resist as thousands of pushtuns are going to vote for JUI & MQM.
Jamat e Islami have already lost its reputation in the eyes of Karachites, so there is a minimum chance of them to get even a single seat from Karachi.

KESC rates increased (another blow to karachites)

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) have approved the current increment in the tariff of Karachi Electric supply corporation. The increment of 1.1 Rs has raised the tariff from 0.6 to 1.70 which is indeed a huge burden for the citizens of 70% revenue generator. The political representatives of KArachi have recorded their protest against the current increment in Sindh assembly as well as National assembly and senate too.
Though the rates are not expected to be lowed down, or taken back, but such discrimination with the citizens of Karachi is not new, soon a day will come when Karachites will start to react back for such discrimination with them.

PHET Missed Karachi

The cyclone "Phet" which was expected to hit Karachi on Sunday eve just missed Karachi coast at very last moment, resulting in a big relief for the people of Karachi who were mentally upset because of the Cyclone's threat.
According to the latest news, at 5 PM, the PHET was just 60 KM away from the Karachi coast, but at the very last moment, the direction suddenly changed and the cyclone was self diverted to Badin, Thatha and Ketty bandar.
Karachites are well safe now, But the expected heavy rain is still a big area of concern for the City administration as well as the citizens. As the drainage system is not that efficient as it should be.

Karachi ready to face a big hurricane

A hurricane which was been created in Arabian Sea is about to hit Karachi in next 48 hours.
The weather forecasting is not very pleasant for the citizens of KArachi. Social workers and political activists of MQM are on Road and are trying to make things better and more firm to face a hurricane. The Hurricane is now at the coast of Oman and according to the latest news the intensity has been decreased as the Hurricane is no more of Category 3, it is now of Category 2.
People of Karachi will miss the former Mayor Mustafa Kamal who always was ready to face such situations, as the new administration of the City is not that much active as it should be.
But it would be a big challenge for Karachites to face such hurricane after a long period of time.
