City Council session: CDGK given right to change status of land

KARACHI: Haq Parast City Council (CC) Member and Master Plan Committee Chairman Absar-ul-Hassan has requested the CC that the status of an amenity plot No ST-10, ST-9/1 and ST-9 in Block 16, Scheme 36, Gulistan-e-Jauhar measuring 4,010 square meters should be changed to a non-amenity plot.

Since the Sindh government in accordance with the Sindh Local Government Ordinance (SLGO) 2001, section 40 (A) has accepted that the City District Government Karachi (CDGK), through the CC, has the right to change the status of an amenity plot or any piece of land and that the Sindh chief secretary has submitted before the CC for the same issue, Hassan tabled the resolution accordingly and brought to the CC’s attention that although the people of Pahar Ganj were given a lease in 1982 they still have not been given the lease documents, adding that the CC should take the case up so that the pending work might be completed.
