Kamal for embracing new technology

KARACHI: City Nazim Mustafa Kamal on Monday stressed on the importance of Information Technology (IT) and said that government organisations could only improve performance by embracing new technologies.

Addressing a conference at a local hotel, Kamal said that the City District Government Karachi (CDGK) has paid special attention to the use of IT in its departments during last three years. He added that despite various problems that had emerged, the CDGK has taken up the task to build an IT tower that will house a large call centre with a capacity of 10 thousand seats. Speaking about the benefits of embracing the latest technology, Kamal said that CDGK’s ‘Citizen’s Complaints Information Management System - 1339’ project was providing great assistance to citizens in resolving their problems by providing them direct access to higher authorities in government organisations.

City govt to set up public school in Gadap: Nazim Karachi Mustafa Kamal said that the city government is establishing a high standard public school in Gadap Town on an area of 50 acres, for which construction and all other infrastructure has been completed. He expressed these views during a visit to Gadap Town along with Zindagi Trust Chairman Shehzad Roy and Book Foundation Chairman Sami Mustafa on Monday.
